How does electric chainsaw work?

How does electric chainsaw work? A chainsaw is a very handy piece of equipment and has many uses, most chainsaws are gasoline powered, but electric chainsaws are being used more and more by home owners to trim tree branches and for other smaller workloads around the home.  Chainsaws are very helpful if you are a land or homeowner clearing a tree or just trimming limbs on the property, or cutting firewood.

Chainsaws both gasoline and electric ones come in a range of sizes and the length of the chain is used to categorize them. A 16-inch chainsaw is very commonly used on most small jobs; anything smaller would probably be used for trimming tree branches or thick bushes.

The features that an electric chainsaw has are:

·        To use an electric chainsaw simply plug the power cord into a socket and turn it on, then just press the trigger switch to start the chain to move.

·        The chain of the chainsaw has cutting teeth and the chain spins at a very high speed around a cutting bar, the cutting bar holds the chain in place via a groove or track located on the length of the cutting board.

·         Electric chainsaws weigh much less than gas powered chainsaws, and require a lot less maintenance, and are safer than gas powered ones.

·        Electric chainsaws are anchored to 100 feet of an electric power cord; consult the dealer if extending the length of the cord.

Electric chainsaws do have disadvantages compared to gasoline chainsaws. Electric chainsaws are made for light cutting work, and are limited in their use because of their electric cord. Even though electric chainsaws have less power than their gas powered cousins, they are still a very dangerous hand tool and should be handled with the utmost respect.

Knowing how does electric chainsaw work is important, because no license or training is required to operate or to own a chainsaw. Tens of thousands of injuries and deaths in America alone are reported every year and most could have been prevented. Anyone thinking about using a chainsaw would be wise to get educated in operating one.

How to Move to Hawaii from the Mainland

Moving to Hawaii from the mainland of the US is a big step over the Pacific Ocean. There are some tips listed here for anyone interested in moving to one of the islands in Hawaii.  The inhabitants of Hawaii still keep their cultural way of living, so there are some things you need to keep in mind before you move there so you can blend in, and avoid making some serious social mistakes.

Here is a list of some helpful tips to help you to harmonize in your new surroundings.

·        Honolulu is the state Capital of Hawaii, and is located on the island of Oahu. Most people are moving to Oahu before later deciding to venture to the outer islands, moving to Maui is the second most popular destination.

·        Locals commonly call foreigners (anyone not a native of Hawaii) haole’s, it sounds like a funny word and is pronounced “how-lee.”  The pitch in which this word is spoken is relevant to discern, if used  teasingly among friends that’s ok, but if harshly its meant as degrading an insult by some who despise foreigners. Mostly Caucasian people are called “haole, but persons of Asian descent blend in so well and are almost never referred to as such.

·        Be prepared to budget more for food cost as prices in Hawaii are much more than the mainland US, almost double for some food stuffs.

·        Food is not the only thing expensive in this paradisiacal place, high rent and Hawaii has one of the highest median home prices in the country.

·        Moving can be a logistical nightmare to Hawaii if you have a large family or lots of belongings. It’s easy to find a moving company in Honolulu that can help you with cheaper shipping costs on containers bound for Hawaii or any of the outer islands.

So there you go, there is much more to learn as you arrive, but when in doubt about customs be sure to ask someone, it’s a beautiful place to live and people living in Hawaii are generally very friendly and helpful.

How to Free Dive

It’s necessary before learning how to free dive that a person first know how to snorkel. The more advanced technique is called free diving where you dive down to the bottom of the water, this can be a few a meters or two, up to 100 meters. The free diving record is held by Martin Stepanek who dived 106 meters in 3 minutes and 45 seconds off the Cayman Islands in 2010. But don’t expect to free dive down that far any time soon, first you have to learn how to free dive.

Once you are snorkeling on the surface of the water you want to take large deep breathes inhale as much as you can, at least three breathes then hold them for a few seconds. When you’re ready to go, take a fourth breathe and start to face down towards the bottom while sticking your feet and legs up in the air. This helps to drive your body down so you can get started towards the bottom.

As you begin to go down farther and farther you will feel water pressure building in your ears causing discomfort, so you will need to learn how to clear your ears to relieve this pressure. To clear your ears, you simply pinch and hold your nose through your mask if you’re wearing one, and then try and blow air out through your nose. This will cause a small popping sound and bring instant relief from the discomfort feeling.

After clearing your ears you will be able to continue downwards toward the bottom, you need to start clearing your ears as soon as you start free diving down, it will take a bit of time to get used to it, afterwards it will become second nature. Equalizing the pressure in your sinuses is the only real obstacle to learning how to free dive, other than snorkeling, and your ability to hold your breath long enough to get down as far as you want to go.

NEVER deep free dive alone, especially in strong current
Never free dive at night
